OUR TOWN
The City of Alachua is a wonderful place to live, work and visit.
Our Downtown Historic District is lovely to stroll with its charming curves on Main Street, vintage lighting, historic buildings, and friendly merchants – all without crowds.
Shops include a wide variety of restaurants, gift shops, antique stores, apparel shops, a bookseller, flooring and lighting stores, a photographer, a bakery and a Christmas nook.
Events include the Alachua Spring Festival, a Fourth of July Extravaganza, several Shop, Dine and Stroll Evenings, Scarecrow Row, Alachua Harvest Festival, Trick or Treat on Main Street, the Christmas Parade, Tree Lighting, Santa and Christmas Caroling. Throughout the year the Alachua Woman’s Club hosts a series of interesting activities such as an antique road show, collector’s exhibitions, banquets, teas, and a Tour of Homes.
OUR MISSION
The Alachua Business League`s mission is to promote business-to-business support, organize events and activities to promote local business, maintain a business development network, conduct roundtable discussions, and welcome all new businesses into the area.
Monthly meetings are lively discussions about what matters to our businesses. We are dedicated to sharing ideas, methods, and opportunities with other members.
Events are planned to bring business and visitors to the community. Proceeds are used for business promotion; projects focused on bringing, supporting and building a strong, viable business community throughout Alachua; and a portion of event proceeds are donated to local, member approved, goodwill organization. Historically this has been to fund a College Scholarship for a Senior from Santa Fe High School.
